Enrique Oroz’s Lady Payasa has a rather sinister undertone. At first glance, it appears as though an 18th century Rococo masterpiece has been vandalised. Much like colouring in the teeth or drawing a unibrow on posters in the street, the painting of Lady Payasa seems to have become a victim of vandalism. Where her once delicate features were, there is now a dripping, red clown face.
